Lenovo K3 Note vs YU Yureka: comparison of budget 4G LTE phablets


Chinese smartphone maker Lenovo recently sent out invites for an event on June 25th in India. The brand is expected to add a new 4G LTE-enabled phablet, the Lenovo K3 Note in the country at that event. The vendor already has several popular devices to cater 4G LTE segment in India like the Lenovo A6000 and Lenovo A7000. The K3 Note will join the same segment in the phablet territory.

The Lenovo K3 Note will be facing stiff competition from other budget 4G LTE-enabled phones in the country. The YU Yureka offers almost similar specs as the K3 Note, so let’s compare their features to find out which one is better.


Lenovo K3 Note vs YU Yureka: battle of the affordable Android phablets


The Lenovo K3 Note is one of the best looking budget Android phones from the Chinese brand. The phone measures quite slim 8mm around the waist, and weighs 150 grams. The YU Yureka on the other hand is tad heavier at 155 grams, and slightly thicker with an 8.5mm waistline. So design wise, the K3 Note looks better than Yureka.

Display and software

The Lenovo K3 Note and YU Yureka, both smartphones offer large 5.5-inch displays. However, the K3 Note comes with a full HD screen panel, resulting into a pixel density of 401 pixels per inch. The Yureka offers mediocre media viewing experience as it comes with an HD resolution screen panel, resulting into a pixel density of 267ppi. On the software front, the Yureka runs Cyanogen-based Android 4.4 KitKat, while the Lenovo K3 Note offers better software specs as it runs Android Lollipop out of the box.


The YU Yureka is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, further supported by an Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The Lenovo K3 Note on the other hand offers a slightly better performing 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 chipset, further supported by a Mali T760 MP2 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Both the smartphones come with 16GB of flash memory, further expandable up to 32GB.


In terms of camera features, the YU Yureka and Lenovo K3 Note, both offer 13-megapixel autofocus rear cameras and 5-megapixel front shooters. However, the K3 Note comes with a dual-colour LED flash, which delivers better photos in the low light conditions as compared to the YU Yureka.

Connectivity & Battery

Connectivity features of these smartphones are also similar including dual-SIM slots, support for 4G LTE networks, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, micro-USB 2.0, and A-GPS. The Yureka is fueled by a 2,500mAh battery that offers eight hours of talktime on 2G networks. The Lenovo K3 Note offers longer battery life that delivers a whopping 36 hours of talktime on 3G networks.


The Lenovo K3 Note vs YU Yureka comparison clearly reveals that the former is a better offering. The smartphone is lighter, slimmer than the K3 Note, and offers a full HD display for an immersive media viewing experience, and a massive battery for long lasting usage. However, in terms of pricing, the YU Yureka is priced at Rs 8,999, while the Lenovo K3 Note is expected to be priced around Rs 12,000 in the country.
